[damaged] at a speciall meeting appointed & holden this day at Yarrow Bridge near Chorley in the sd county by us whose names are subscribed three of her ma[jes[ties justices of he peace & quorum & for the sd county pursuant to & by virtue of an Act of Parliament for raising recruits for the land forces & marines William Bentham of Coppull seized by Richard Heaton constablke was this day brought before us examined & twenty shillings tender’d to the sd William by Captain James [illeg] in the regiment of foot commanded by the Honble major generall John Sidcombe commissioned by her ma[jes]ties sign [illeg] to receive & list such recruits & the articles of war being now read unto him pursuant to the sd Act. We doe therefore hereby adjudge the sd William Bentham to be within the description & intent of the sd Act & doe assign & deliver him over to the sd Captain to serve as a soldier according to the sd Act.
