Nathaniel Threlford 1782




In the name of god Amen. I Nathaniel Threlford of Copul in the Parish of Standish & County of Lancashire Innkeeper Being of sound mind & perfect memory, thanks be to god for the same, yet knowing that death is certain to all men but the time thereof most uncertain, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following, That is to say it is my will and mind that my just Debts (if any) and my funerall expenses with the charge of the probate of this my last will be first paid & discharged, and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased god to bless me in this life, I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form, that is to say first of all I give and bequeath unto my sister Elen Knowles of Pemberton the sume of one guinea, also unto Henry Threlford & Richard his brother sons of my unckle WIlliam Threlford each the sume of one shilling, if they please to come and demand the same, and also unto James Threlford and George his brother each the sume of one shilling if they please to come and demand it, the said James and George being the sons of my unckle John Threlford, And all the rest residue & remainder of my Effects whatsoever I give and bequeath unto Elen my dear wife ffor her own & entire use to apply give or Bequeath as she may think proper, and I do hereby appoint and declare Elen my said wife to be the only and sole executor of this my last will and testament, hoping that all my said requests be paid and done as aforesaid, and I do hereby revock & disanull all wills by me at anytime made willd or Bequeathed Ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seal this sixth day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and ffifty nine
