To my very loving friend Mr Roger Kenyon at Widow Bannesters in Preston there be all.  

Kind Sir According to your desires and my promise to you at Miles Wards in Bolton, I have sent you a copy of the order of the last assizes of John Alston comp[lainan]t against William Weaver and others defendents. I desire you of all love not to forget my suit to you concerning Mr Nicholls fees, I paid the same in his absence for him unto my m[aste]r and to the judge[?] men as appears upon my accompt, the which is paid for two [illeg section] xvs iiijd a [damaged] in all xxxs viijd and for the continuance of two recognisances until they bring their pardon of course he and Francis Clarke [illeg] vijs in all xijs whereas as I take it Mr Nicholls hath from me a notice formerly given him, I pray your good sir persuade [?] with Mr Nicholls I may have my moneys paid for xxxs viijd I protest I have paid, & I stand charged with the other I shall be loathe after [illeg] to shew extremity neither will I lose it if I can help it. And so hoping your favours herein as aforesaid I desire to remain
