John German 1760
In the name of God amen I John German of Coppull in the county of Lancaster yeoman do make this my last will and testament in the manner following. And first I order and appoint that all my just debts funeral expenses and probate of this my last will and all other incident charges attending the same be paid and discharged out of my effects by my executors hereafter named. Then I give and devise to my son William German during his natural life the whole of the house housing orchards folds and all other appurtenances thereunto belonging which I purchased from the late Mr. Pearson of Crookk and which is situate lying and being in Coppull aforesaid. Also I give unto my said son William German the further sum of four pounds a year yearly and every year during his life provided he lives in the lease by which I hold the same continue to live so long to be paid him from and out of the yearly profits of the whole of my leasehold tenement called Clayton Yate or Germans tenement also lying and being in Coppull aforesaid to be paid thereout quarterly by twenty shillings a quarter the first payment to be made him by my executors within three months after my death and so every quarter of a year during his life and after his decease I give and devise the said land purchased as aforesaid and also the tenement called Clayton Yate equally between my two sons Thomas German and John German share and share alike I also give unto Thomas German my grandson and son of my son Thomas the sum of five pounds to be paid out of the next year's profits of the tenement aforesaid after my death. Then I give the rest residue and remainder of my effects real and personal to and betwixt my two sons Thomas German and John German to be equally divided betwixt them share and share alike. And lastly I nominate and appoint my said two sons Thomas German and John German to be executors of this my will setting aside all other will or wills heretofore at any time by me made in witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal and published and declared this to be my last will and testament this eleventh day of April in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty four
Sealed signed published and declared by the said John German for and as his last will and testament in the presence of us who have hereunto set and subscribed our names as witnesses to attest of the same in his sight and presence
