In the name of god amen the twentieth day of April in the thirty five year of the reign of our sovereign Lord Charles the second by the grace of god King of England Scotland France and Ireland defender of the faith etc.  A.d.  1683 I Jennett Lowe of coppull in the county of Lancaster widow being sick and weak in body but of sound and perfect memory praised be god for the same and considering with myself the instability of this frail life and the certainty of death which spares no creature but the time and place most uncertain and not minding to depart this world intestate do by the gracious sufferance and assistance of almighty god constitute ordain and make this my last will and testament in manner and form following.  And first and principally I give and most freely and cheerfully bequeath my soul unto almighty god my maker and most merciful redeemer Jesus Christ trusting through the merits of his most blessed passion to receive eternal life after this miserable life is ended and be an inheritor with him in his heavenly kingdom and my body to Christian burial at the discretion of my executrix hereafter named.  And for the disposing of such worldly goods as god hath endowed me withall after my debts and funeral expenses are discharged first I give and bequeath unto Thomas Lowe my eldest son one folding board standing in the fire house.  I give and bequeath unto Ralph Lowe my second son two shillings and sixpence.  I give and bequeath unto Robert Lowe my third son that little bed and bed stocks with the furniture belonging unto it as it now standeth in my chamber.  I give James Lowe my fourth and last son the sum of twenty shillings.  I give unto Ralph Lowe the son of John Lowe one little chest standing at my beds feet where I usually lie.  I give and bequeath unto Ellis Lowe my daughter now wife of George Eastom the remainder of all that over I have after my debts funeral expenses and legacies are discharged.  And I do constitute ordain and make my daughter Ellis Eastom my executrix of this my last will and testament trusting she will duly and truly execute the same as my trust is in her.  And I do nominate and appoint Thomas Lowe my oldest son overseer of this my last will hoping he will see the same fulfilled.  And I do renounce and revoke all other wills and testaments whatsoever by me heretofore had and made.  In witness whereof I have here unto put my hand and seal the day and year first above written
