As for the 1764 census, this
was produced by the vicar of Standish and covered the whole of his
parish. Below is the extract for the township of Coppull. Many
additional details are included in this census, including the name of
the house or farm at which each inhabitant lived. The original document
contains more information than is shown below.
The first column shows the
sequence in which the details of each family were entered in the census
book, the second the name of the house or farm. The third to fifth
columns give the size of the landholding in the measures Acres, Reeds
(Rods) and Perches. The names of the landowner and then tenant appear,
followed by the numbers of children, servants and lodgers in the house.
The final column identifies the religions affiliation of the household -
with eng being Church of England, Rom or Rome being Roman Catholic and
Qua being Quaker.
